Introduction to the Faculty

This college started its educational activities since the academic year of 1992 with the acceptance of 11 students in the field of Biology (animal sciences) at Gorgan University of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, and since 2007, Golestan University was established as the first faculty. This faculty has expanded over time, so that in the academic year of 2013, there were 57 faculty members and 1394 students in 7 academic departments and 27 sub-disciplines in both turn 1 and turn 2 in degrees from Bachelor to PhD.

Department of Mathematics and Computer Science

In 2004: The Department of Mathematics which includes 8 faculty members was officially established by acceptance of students in Pure Mathematics at the bachelor degree in the Faculty of Basic Sciences of Gorgan University of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources.

In 2006: Department of Computer Sciences in Golestan University with 3 faculty members was officially established by acceptance of students in Computer Sciences at the bachelor degree in the Faculty of Sciences of Gorgan University of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources.

In 2008: Establishment of Golestan University and its separation from Gorgan University of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources

In 2014: Integration of both Department of Mathematics and Department of Computer Sciences

2017: Department of Mathematics and Department of Computer Sciences have 10 full-time faculty members (9 Mathematics and 1 Computer Sciences).

Introduction to the Department of Physics

History

The Department of Physics began its work by the acceptance of students in the first undergraduate program of studies in the second semester of the academic year of 2007-2008. The main objective of this department is to train special forces in fields related to physical sciences such as Solid-state physics, Condensed matter physics, Nano physics, Magnetic Materials, Nuclear physics, Radiation Applications, Nuclear Reactors, Astronomy, Astrophysics and Cosmology. After relative completing of facilities and faculty members, the first postgraduate program of studies in solid-state physics was set up in the first semester of the academic year of 2010-2011, the first postgraduate program of studies in nuclear physics was set up in the first semester of the academic year of 2012-2013, and the first postgraduate program of studies in Astrophysics was set up in the first semester of the academic year of 2014-2015. Now in the department of Physics, There are 10 faculty members working in teaching and research. There are 7 educational and research laboratories in the department that deal with educational and research services.
